Exchange Rates

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)

The Exchange Rates tab on the System Defaults page enables operators (with appropriate access rights) to define and maintain currency exchange rates. Each exchange rate describes how to convert a value expressed in a currency to the reference currency. For example, if you define 0.75 exchange rate for Australian dollar ($AUD) against the US dollar ($USD), and enter a currency a value $AUD 100, FlexNet Manager Suite would automatically convert it to $USD 75. FlexNet Manager Suite requires exchange rates as it displays the default currency in reports. If the operator's preferred currency is different (for example, Euro) from the default currency (for example, USD), the currency fields would display values in the preferred as well as the default currency. FlexNet Manager Suite converts the values from default currency to the preferred currency using the defined exchange rates.

This page displays the details of the latest exchange rate set (as well as a list of historical sets). You can click the Show details check box under the Historical exchange rate sets section to view the other exchange rate sets that you have defined.

Exchange Rates Set

FlexNet Manager Suite uses exchange rates set to convert values from one currency to the other. A default Standard Rate is created when the product is installed, and you can edit this to meet your corporate requirements. As exchange rates vary, you create additional exchange rate sets for each effective date.

At other places in the web interface where you enter any currency value, you can select both a currency and the exchange rate set to use for the entered value. If you do not select an exchange rate set, FlexNet Manager Suite uses the latest exchange rate set.

This page enables you to perform the following actions:
  • Create an exchange rate set: You can create any number of exchange rate sets. See Creating an Exchange Rate Set
  • Modify an exchange rate set: You can click the edit (pencil) icon to modify an existing exchange rate set. See Editing an Exchange Rate Set
  • Delete an exchange rate set: You can delete an existing exchange rate set (other than the Standard Rate). See Deleting an Exchange Rate Set.
Note: When you delete an exchange rate set that is currently being used in the system, FlexNet Manager Suite uses the standard exchange rate set to recalculate the values that were calculated using the exchange rate set that you deleted.
