Managing Your Simulations

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)
You manage your simulations from the Current Simulations list.
Restriction: You cannot clone or duplicate a simulation. Each one must start from scratch.

Renaming a Simulation

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)

You may change the name of a saved simulation at any time. This is a simple renaming of the existing simulation, and any previous name is removed (that is, this is not equivalent to a Save As function where both old and new names would be available).

  1. If you are not already editing the simulation:
    1. Select it from your list of Current Simulations.
    2. Click Edit in the tool bar.
  2. At the top right of the work page, in the Tasks panel, click Rename simulation.

    The Rename Simulation dialog appears.

  3. Enter a new name for your simulation.
Tip: Consider including numbering or a date in the name to help distinguish different experiments you may try.
  4. Click Save to close the dialog.
Tip: There is no need to save the simulation. It is automatically saved after every change.
The simulation is renamed at the top of your work page, and also in the list of Current Simulations when you next access that page.

Editing an Existing Simulation

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)

Editing a simulation means making changes to the details of machines, installations, and licenses shown in the simulation, so that you can examine the impacts of your proposed changes.

  1. Navigate to the Current Simulations page.
  2. From the list, select the simulation you would like to edit.
  3. Click Edit, located in the tool bar above the list of existing simulations.
The existing simulation is displayed. You can modify the details of the simulation as you wish. All changes are persistent (and you do not need to save them specifically).

Deleting a Simulation

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)
Deleting a simulation immediately removes it from your list of Current Simulations, and cleans up the data.
Tip: There is no confirmation dialog, and no undo.
  1. Navigate to the Current Simulations page.
  2. From the list, select the existing simulation that you would like to delete.
  3. Click Delete, located in the tool bar above the list of existing simulations.

The simulation is deleted.
