Choosing a Simulation Currency

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)

If you already have multiple currencies (and exchange rate snapshots) registered in FlexNet Manager Suite, you can select one of those currencies as the display currency for your simulation. By default, the display currency is set to your personal default currency, but you may set the currency for any simulation at any time. The last selected currency is automatically saved as part of your simulation.

If at any time you need to edit the unit price displayed by any license, your input can also be in any of your registered currencies (it does not have to be in the same currency as the rest of your simulation). Once input, it will automatically be displayed in the current currency for the simulation. This makes it easy to input an accurate price in the local currency in which it was quoted, while examining the impacts in your preferred currency.

  1. You may select currencies in either of two ways:
    • To select the display currency for the entire simulation, in the Task panel at the top-right of the page for the simulation, click Choose display currency.
    • While editing the unit price in the License summary list, click the ellipsis (...) button at the right end of the Unit price field. This setting applies only to data entry for this field.
In either case, the Select Currency and Snapshot dialog appears.
  2. From the Currency pull-down at the top of the dialog, select your preferred currency. This list includes all the currencies registered in FlexNet Manager Suite when you started this simulation.
The dialog refreshes to show the list of exchange rate snapshots related to your preferred currency.
  3. Click on a row of the list to select your desired exchange rate.
Tip: It may be helpful to see the dates of exchange rate snapshots. A Date column is available in the Field Chooser, available through the Advanced menu.
  4. Click OK.
The dialog clears, and the simulation screen is updated with the adjusted value(s) in the selected currency.
