Changing a Currency's Appearance or Use

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)

You can configure the way that a currency is represented in lists and reports, and separately control how it appears in editable controls. You can also prevent its use in future data entry.

To change the appearance of a currency:

  1. Navigate to the system menu ( in the top right corner) > System Defaults, and select the Currency Settings tab.
  2. From the list of currencies, click the Edit (pencil) icon on the right end of the currency you want to modify.
The appearance of the tab changes to display the Edit currencyName page.
  3. Modify the settings for this currency:
    Field Notes
Property format Specify a prefix and suffix to be shown in editable fields within property sheets and similar places. The system defaults for this currency are displayed, but you may edit them to your preference. To the right of the prefix and suffix fields, a sample value is displayed using the values you edit.
List format Similarly specify a (possibly different) prefix and suffix for use when the monetary value appears in reports, lists, and other non-editable locations where space may be limited.
Usage You may set this currency to either of the following values:
    • Active — This currency is in use in your enterprise. It will be included in any exchange rate sets created while it remains active. Operators may choose this currency as their preferred presentation currency. All monetary inputs can use this currency.
    • Retired — This currency was previously in use in your enterprise (and still appears in exchange rate sets and transactions recorded while it was active); but while it is retired, the currency cannot be used for new data entries, and does not appear in any exchange rate sets created in this time-frame.
  4. Click Save.
The list of active currencies displays once more. To check that your settings are as you require, you may select the Show details check box above the list.
