Metric

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

The Metric control has a slightly different meanings for Oracle licenses than for non-Oracle licenses.

For non-Oracle licenses, the Metric is the name of the measure that determines when an entitlement under this license has been consumed. The value here is for convenience and audit trail only — the setting does not control any process of updating values. For Custom Metric licenses the Consumed count, or for IBM RVU licenses the Resources consumed value, may be updated manually (or by the business importer suitably configured). You may choose a metric from those provided with IT Asset Management, or you may create your own. You may also edit metric names that have been created in your enterprise.

For Oracle licenses, select from the drop-down list the value appropriate to this license, depending on whether license entitlements are consumed based on the number of processor cores on the host machine, or the number of sockets (populated or not) on the host machine.
Conseil : When this setting is Number of sockets, for instances hosted by an authorized fournisseur de service cloud, Oracle licenses use a calculated equivalent number of "Oracle sockets". For more information about licensing on cloud-hosted instances, see the Consumption settings for cloud service providers section in the Use rights & rules tab of the license properties (see License Consumption Rules page for more details).

Only available for Custom Metric, IBM RVU, Oracle Named User Plus, and Oracle Processor licenses.
