IT Asset Management Settings: Users Tab

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

The Users tab on the IT Asset Management Settings General page enables you to manage blocklisted user accounts. There are certain system or local accounts which are often imported into IT Asset Management during an inventory import. These accounts do not represent Users who would consume licenses, so these accounts should not be involved in compliance calculations.

Accounts in this list are not recorded from any future inventory imports. If some of these accounts are already recorded in the system, they are prevented from consuming license entitlements. Any changes made to this list are effective from the next license consumption calculation.

You can perform the following actions on the blocklisted accounts:
  • Search for a blocklisted account: For more information on using UI controls, see the topics under Using Lists in IT Asset Management.
  • Update the account name: Click the edit icon for the account record, change the account name and click the save icon.
Note: Wildcard characters (% _) can be used as part of the Account name field, however account names often include the domain name, so be cautious when using wildcard characters to avoid blocklisting an entire domain.
  • Delete an account from the list: Delete an account from this list so that it could once again be included in compliance calculations. Click the delete icon to delete the user account from this list.
Note: IT Asset Management will delete an account name without displaying any warning.
