Evidence Tab: Installer Evidence

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

This choice displays details of installer evidence for this inventory device, and allows you to view the properties of a selected piece of installer evidence.

This page displays the following columns (listed alphabetically). Some columns are displayed by default and others can be displayed through the column chooser. To manage columns and other UI options, see the topics under Managing Columns in a Table.

Table 1. Installer evidence tab details
Field Description
Assigned

Displays Yes when the evidence is matched to at least one application, and otherwise displays No. This assignment may have been done automatically through the Application Recognition Library rules, or manually by the operator.

Assigned application
The application to which the evidence is assigned. This value will differ from the Recognized application if any of the following is correct:
  • The evidence is assigned to an application but is set to Ignored and therefore it is not used for recognition
  • The application to which the evidence is assigned is part of a suite and that suite has been recognized instead of the individual application
  • The application to which the evidence is assigned was removed by precedence rules.
Ignored

Displays Yes when the evidence is not used for application recognition, and No (the default) when the evidence is used to recognize an installation of the assigned application.

Inventory date

The most recent date this evidence was detected on this inventory device.

Inventory source

The display name of the inventory connection where this evidence was found, such as IT Asset Management.

Name The display name of the installer evidence recorded in the Application Recognition Library.
Publisher The publisher of the installer evidence recorded in the Application Recognition Library.
Raw evidence type

The type of imported installer evidence as retrieved from the inventory source, for example, MSI, OUI, Uninstall.

The majority of retrieved values in the Raw evidence type column can also be displayed in the Evidence type column of the All Evidence page. More details are available for the Evidence type column in the All Evidence page (see All Installer Evidence).

Tip: Some evidence types may appear slightly different here as the raw evidence type when compared to the normalized evidence type in the All Evidence listing. For example, the raw evidence type ToadLicense, when normalized, has a space added, and appears elsewhere as Toad License.
A small amount of values retrieved in the Raw evidence type column are specific only to the Raw evidence type and will not display in the Evidence type column on the All Evidence page. These values include:
  • Uninstall: evidence from the uninstall registry key for Windows installer properties. Values are written under this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. The values are stored in a subkey identified by the application's product code GUID.
  • ManageSoft: evidence from software packages that are deployed by the FlexNet Inventory Agent. This evidence type will only display when a package is deployed by the FlexNet Inventory Agent.
Note: Specific to Citrix Cloud only: Installer evidence that matches the Application Recognition Library (ARL) will be used. If the installer evidence is not recognized by the ARL, a new raw evidence type called StreamedApplication is created. As per normal practice, you can then manually assign the unrecognized installer evidence to an application.
Raw name The display name of the installer evidence as retrieved from the inventory source. Click to see other properties for the incoming inventory record on the General tab of the installer evidence page. See General Tab for Installer Evidence.
Raw publisher The publisher for the installer evidence as retrieved from the inventory source.
Raw version The version for the installer evidence as retrieved from the inventory source.
Recognized application

Name of the application that is shown as installed in the Application tab of the inventory device properties (if the evidence was used for recognition). You can click on this link to open the Application Properties of the recognized application.

Source
The source of this evidence rule:
  • Flexera — The evidence is identified in the Application Recognition Library, and is linked only to the identified application.
  • Flexera (Extended) — Shown when an operator added an additional application to the original record from the Application Recognition Library, or ignored it, or when an ARL evidence comes over the same existing local one. Nevertheless, this status is not refreshed.
  • Local — Shown when an operator in your enterprise created the record for this application, or when the raw evidence doesn't match any existing evidence in the Application Recognition Library.
Version The version of the installer evidence recorded in the Application Recognition Library.
