Evidence Tab: WMI Evidence

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

WMI evidence is used to recognize operating systems, and also as an inventory plug-in to recognize special applications such as Microsoft SQL Server. The link between WMI (and more broadly, WBEM) evidence and operating system applications is pre-loaded from Application Recognition Library. You cannot modify WBEM evidence records.

During the inventory import, data from the registry, along with other data, is passed as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) evidence to IT Asset Management. For more information about setting up the WMI collection workflow, see the Configuring WMI for FlexNet Inventory Scanner topic in Gathering FlexNet Inventory.
Note: If you are using Windows® Vista and Windows Server 2008, and your enterprise relies on firewalls, you might consider setting up a fixed port: for details, see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb219447(VS.85).aspx.

The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available in the WMI evidence list. Some are displayed by default, and others are available in the column chooser (see Managing Columns in a Table).
