Overview: Adding a Business Data Import

For repeated, scheduled imports, business data can be imported into IT Asset Management using "business adapters", which load the data from your chosen data source, reformat the data to suit the compliance database, and prepare it for upload from your inventory beacon to the central application server.

Because each data source is unique, you must custom-build each business adapter (or ask the Professional Services team from Flexera to develop it for you). Business adapters are created and tested using the Business Adapter Studio, supplied as a standard part of your installation of IT Asset Management.
