RightScale Optima

Release Notes

July 2019

Introduction

RightScale Optima is a cost management and optimization solution that enables enterprises to cut cloud costs and ensure the ongoing efficient use of cloud resources across all of their business units, cloud accounts, clouds, and applications.

One of the biggest challenges when optimizing cloud costs is implementing recommended savings across large organizations where control of cloud accounts is decentralized. RightScale Optima offers a unique approach to cost management and optimization that enables cloud governance teams to work collaboratively with business units and cloud resource owners to reduce wasted cloud spend.

RightScale Optima is offered as a standalone product and also is included as part of the RightScale Cloud Management Platform (CMP).

New Features and Enhancements

This release of RightScale Optima includes the following enhancements:

New Security Certificate for Optima Single Sign-On (SSO) (Released July 23, 2019)
Updated Optima Support Phone Numbers (Released July 8, 2019)

New Security Certificate for Optima Single Sign-On (SSO) (Released July 23, 2019)

As part of ongoing maintenance, we have deployed a new security certificate for the Optima and Cloud Management Platform (CMP) SSO identity endpoint. We expect the deploy to take less than 10 minutes. If your company uses SSO to log in to Optima and CMP, you will need to take certain steps before August 11, 2019 to avoid downtime and ensure continuity of service to your SSO users. We currently have both certificates available. The new security certificate can be installed at any time before August 11, 2019 using the following link: https://docs.rightscale.com/platform/guides/configuring_sso/#overview. The new certificate will contain the same key, but it will have a new expiration date that will expire in two years on August 11, 2021. If you have any questions or issues, please contact Flexera’s support in the community or by emailing support@flexera.com.

Updated Optima Support Phone Numbers (Released July 8, 2019)

The Optima support phone numbers have been updated for North America, Europe, Asia/Pacific, and Japan. For details, see Contact Support.
