Databases Tab
FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R2 (On-Premises Edition)
This tab displays the database properties of the discovered device. It indicates the type of
database, database listeners, and database services installed on the discovered device. The
page has the following database options:
- This device is running SQL Server software — Indicates that the discovered computer is running MS SQL Server database.
- This device is running Oracle software — Indicates that the
discovered device is running Oracle Database. When you select the This device is running Oracle software option, FlexNet Manager Suite displays the details of Oracle listeners and Oracle services. You can create new listeners and services to connect to Oracle Database.Important: In most cases, the listener and service details provided in the manually-created discovered device record are overwritten by the actual values discovered by the inventory process. However, there can be some special cases when the inventory process could not get the correct listener details and may retain the manually-entered listener details of the discovered device. In such cases, a successful connection to Oracle Database depends on the correctness of the listener and service details. You must contact your Oracle administrators to get the correct listener and services details while creating a discovered device manually.
The following discovered device properties are available (listed alphabetically) on this tab.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Name | This column displays the existing Oracle listeners and services. It also
enables you to create new listeners and services. Specifies the name of the listener that the inventory beacon service uses to connect to the Oracle devices during remote inventory collection. You can
configure FlexNet Manager Suite to collect Oracle inventory using the inventory beacon
service by selecting the Oracle Database discovery and inventory options on the Actions page. To collect inventory using the
inventory beacon service, the beacon password store must have the
passwords for all Oracle databases. For more information about the password store, see Using Password Manager.
Note: You can use this inventory collection
method when the Oracle administrator has disabled the Oracle local operating system
authentication, restricting FlexNet inventory agent to connect to the Oracle server for
inventory collection.
See Creating Listeners and Services Specifies the name of the Oracle services available for Oracle listeners. The remote execution tasks can only connect to the services that are listed for a device. |
Port |
Specifies the port number used by the database listener service. |
Version |
Specifies the version of the database listener or service installed on the discovered device. |
