Release Notes

June 2017

Introduction

Software Vulnerability Manager reimagines how software is secured by closing the gap between IT Security and IT Operations by providing industry leading security research, risk assessment and remediation through Software Vulnerability Manager’s key components:

Research: Keep up with the latest software vulnerability research and advisories from Secunia Research
Patching: Remediate software vulnerabilities in third-party applications
Assessment: Discover where software vulnerabilities are installed across your organization

New Features

Software Vulnerability Manager 2017 includes the following new features:

Two-Factor Authentication
Resizable Dashboard
Assessment View
Patches in Workflow

Two-Factor Authentication

Short Message Server (SMS) texts and Google authentication can be used as two-factor authentication for secure user access to Software Vulnerability Manager.

Resizable Dashboard

The Software Vulnerability Manager Dashboard is the default home page that provides you with an overview of vulnerability management processes and gives you access to your latest vulnerability intelligence and Advisories. The information is presented with the help of various widgets, which can be resized and rearranged through mouse clicks to customize your needs. For widgets that include pie charts, the user can click on a certain segment or segments for emphasis.

Assessment View

The Software Vulnerability Manager Assessment View calculates your enterprise’s software vulnerability by identifying the number of vulnerable devices and products. The Assessment Overview screen provides a tree view of the Device Groups within your environment, so you can filter the vulnerability of devices and products to obtain an Average System Score. The Assessment View also provides a list of Advisories that offer solutions for vulnerable devices and products. Advisories can be filtered by criticality, Secunia’s Common Vulnerability Scoring System, Device and Product.

Patches in Workflow

After patches have been identified for your enterprise, you can manage how patches are released. Software Vulnerability Manager’s Settings module provides a Workflow Manager that organizes who needs to be notified of the patches and how to inform users of patches (for example such as through email, creating tickets, and SMS texts).

System Requirements

The Software Vulnerability Manager 2017 User Interface will re-size and adapt when being used on different devices. You can access the system from anywhere using any device, such as a smartphone or tablet, running IE 11 or higher, Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Safari and mobile browsers with an Internet connection capable of connecting to https://app.secunia.com/.
